An Election Day Blessing

Today, we set out to fulfill a mitzvah enshrined in Judaism from its earliest days:
making the voice of the community heard.

Today, we set out to fulfill the ideals of humanism:
taking responsibility and ownership of our communal destiny.

Today, we join together with Americans of all backgrounds to ensure a safe, fair, and equitable election.

Today, we express our opinions, our choices, and our dreams within the precious system known as Democracy.

May the voting booth be accessible to all.

May first-time voters know that their votes matter.

May every eligible voter feel empowered to participate in this rite of Democracy.

May there be no intimidation at the polls.

May our differences be recorded on our ballots and not through anger or conflict.

May the poll workers feel our gratitude for their labors.

May each vote be counted.

May election day be peaceful.

May this election bring our nation closer together.

May the transition of power be smooth, regardless of the election’s outcome.

May our country benefit from our collective wisdom.

And may we each do our part to make it so.
